Haryana had to be content with two points on account of their first innings lead against Tamil Nadu despite enjoying an upperhand in the drawn Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A match in Chennai on Tuesday.

Facing a uphill task of scoring 314 in 41 overs, Tamil Nadu made 52 for 1 in 27 overs when the match was called off before the start of mandatory overs.

Earlier, resuming at 31 without loss, Haryana declared their second innings at 195 for 5 with openers Sumit Sharma (41) and debutant Ankit Rana (31) adding 79 runs.

Sunny Singh (7), Deepak Joon (26), Sachin Rana (38 not out), Joginder Sharma (25) were the other contributors.

For Tamil Nadu, off spinner Aswin (2 for 55) was the main wicket taker.
