Fast bowler Ashish Nehra has been ruled out of India's two-Test series against Zimbabwe after suffering from a back injury.

Fellow paceman Ajit Agarkar [Images], who was in the one-day squad will stay back for the Tests, BCCI joint secretary Goutam Das Gupta said.

Das Gupta informed that the left-arm pace bowler's injury flared up during the tri-series final against New Zealand [Images] on Friday, which India lost by six wickets.

The first Test starts on September 13.

Nehra, 26, has a history of breaking down ever since he made his Test debut in 1999.
