The Sri Lankan cricket team arrived in Chennai amidst tight security for the seven-match one-day international series against India.

The 15-member squad is led by Marvan Atapattu and coached by Tom Moody. The team is scheduled to leave for Mumbai later on Thursday night.

None of the players talked to waiting reporters at the airport, saying they were instructed by the Sri Lankan Board not to talk to the media since an official press conference has been arranged in Mumbai on Friday.

However, Sanath Jayasuriya [Images], who had suffered a freak shoulder injury on Wednesday, told newsmen that he is confident of being fully fit before the series gets underway.

Star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan said he is looking forward to the Test series against India, scheduled to be held in December.

"I don't know the venues of the matches but I will be happy to play a Test in Chennai as the track provides some help to the spinners," he said.

The Sri Lankans will open their campaign in Nagpur on October 25 and play the remaining matches in Mohali (Oct 28), Jaipur (Oct 31), Pune (Nov 3), Ahmedabad (Nov 6), Rajkot (Nov 9) and Baroda (Nov 12).
