Pace bowler Nathan Bracken [Images] has been named ahead of legspinner Stuart MacGill for Australia [Images] in the first Test against West Indies [Images] beginning on Thursday.
MacGill, who combined with Shane Warne [Images] to take 15 of the 20 wickets in Australia's 210-run victory over the World XI last month, has been released to play domestic cricket.
Left-armer Bracken joins a four-pronged pace attack led by Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee [Images] in the match at Brisbane's Gabba ground. All-rounder Shane Watson is the fourth pace bowler in the side with Warne the only specialist spinner.
