Lara elects to bowl in tsunami game

International XI captain Brian Lara [Images] won the toss and elected to bowl in the tsunami appeal one-day match against the MCC at Lord's in London [Images] on Tuesday.

India's Sourav Ganguly [Images] and Harbhajan Singh [Images] were drafted into the MCC squad as late replacements after West Indies [Images] batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan [Images] and Sri Lanka [Images] off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan were forced to pull out.

The match is being played to aid survivors of the December 26 tsunami in Asia, which left more than 220,000 people dead or missing, and thousands homeless around the Indian Ocean area.
