Refusing to elaborate further, a BCCI source said on Thursday that since the players have been covered under the mediclaim policies of the BCCI, they are bound to claim reimbursement for expenses incurred for treatment of injuries.

"Since they are covered under mediclaim players are bound to send the relevant papers to the Board for getting reimbursed," the source said.

Tendulkar underwent surgery for his tennis elbow injury in London [Images] in May and had spent 3,770 pounds sterling (approx. Rs 3 lakh). He has claimed the amount from the BCCI after retuning home, according to news reports.

When contacted in Thiruvananthapuram, BCCI secretary S K Nair said it was an administrative matter which is being handled by treasurer Jyoti Bajpai's office in Kanpur.
