All-rounder Andy Blignaut signed a new deal to play for Zimbabwe after walking out on the national team with 14 other rebels last year, media reports said on Monday.

Blignaut was among a group of leading white players who boycotted the side after captain Heath Streak was sacked in April last year following a dispute over selection policy, which Streak viewed as racially biased.

However, the 26-year-old Blignaut has become frustrated by the pace of negotiations with Zimbabwe Cricket to bring the rebels back into the fold and has decided to make himself available again.

"I would like to play the game for Zimbabwe at international level and prove myself so that I can move up the rankings," Blignaut was quoted as saying by Cricinfo.com.

Zimbabwe were stripped of their Test status in June after being forced to field sides weakened by the dispute. They returned to Test cricket in January in a series in Bangladesh.

Blignaut, who has taken 51 Test wickets, could be rushed back into action this week for Zimbabwe A's third and final Test against Bangladesh.
