Australia and New Zealand [Images] had health concerns on Thursday as the two sides prepared for the final match in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy one-day series.

Australian batsman Michael Clarke [Images], who scored 82 not out to help his side to a two-run victory in the second match, has gastroenteritis.

"We'll just have to wait and see how he pulls up," Australian team physiotherapist Errol Alcott said.

Fast bowler Brett Lee [Images] has already returned home to see a specialist about a nasal condition that has caused him breathing problems. He has been replaced in the Australia squad by the uncapped Mitchell Johnson.

New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond [Images], who missed the games in Auckland and Wellington with a hamstring strain, has been ruled out of Saturday's final match in Christchurch.

Captain Stephen Fleming [Images], however, may return to the side after having surgery to remove a tumour from his face.

Fleming, who also missed the first two games, played for his domestic side in a four-day match and could retake the captaincy from spinner Daniel Vettori [Images], though coach John Bracewell said a decision would not be made until at least Friday.

Batsman Lou Vincent is likely to play despite being struck on the right leg by a Lee delivery and forced to bat with a runner in Wednesday's defeat.

Australia won the first match by 147 runs.
