Tendulkar doubtful for Champions Trophy

September 04, 2004 11:18 IST

Leading Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is doubtful for the ICC Champions Trophy, captain Sourav Ganguly said after his side's 70-run defeat by England in the second one-day international on Friday.

Tendulkar missed the recent triangular series in the Netherlands with tennis elbow in the left hand and has not yet played in the three-match series against England with one game to go.

"He is seriously doubtful," Ganguly told reporters.

The 12-team tournament starts on September 10 with India's first match on September 11 against Kenya in Southampton.

India also play arch-rivals Pakistan on September 19 at Edgbaston, the last match before the semi-finals.
