Pak lifts under-17 Asia Cup

Pakistan easily defeated India by six wickets to win the Asia Cup under-17 cricket title at Bangalore on Tuesday.

Pakistan needed just 43.1 overs to overhaul the target of 231 runs.

Earlier, India could only manage 230 in 45 overs.

Left-hander Piyush Chawla, who scored 51, was the only batsman to make a sizeable contribution as wickets tumbled with regularity.

But the Pakistani lads battted with confidence to emerge worthy victors.

Brief scores:

India 230 in 45 overs (P. Chawla 51, Raza Ali 3-40, Fiaz Ahmed 2-44, Fahad Zaman 2-41) lost to Pakistan 233 for three in 43.1 overs (Adnaan Raza Ali 76 not out, Fiaz Ahmed 63, Nasir Jamshaid 31).

Result: Pakistan won by six wickets.
