Despite scoring only two runs in the Indian first innings on the opening day of the second Test in Lahore, Sachin Tendulkar got a world record to his name.

For the first time in 2004, the master batsman lost his wicket in a Test.

In three previous innings this year, Tendulkar scored 241* & 60* at Sydney against Australia and followed it up with 194* against Pakistan at Multan.

Tendulkar's aggregate of 497 is now the maximum runs scored by a batsman between two dismissals in Test cricket. The previous record was held by West Indian Garry Sobers, who had aggregated 490 runs before getting out in the series against Pakistan in 1957-58.
