Having made history in Pakistan on Thursday, the Indian cricket team took the day off today and visited the Wagah border to witness the spectacular flag-lowering ceremony.

The cricketers travelled 25 km east of Lahore to experience the ceremony, featuring Border Security Force and Pakistani Rangers personnel.

The ceremony, held every evening, attracts visitors from either side of the Wagah border. The flags of India and Pakistan are lowered at sunset and the gates at the international border are closed.

The Indian team had earlier spent the day relaxing in the team hotel following a late-night "celebration dinner".

"Friday is total rest for the team. We had a celebration dinner last night," said a team official.

The team had dinner along with select friends at Pearl Continental hotel in Lahore.

"We leave the celebration matters to youngsters and they plan how to celebrate a win," said stand-in captain Rahul Dravid.

"We will celebrate in a big way once we win the series, because it would be a huge satisfaction," added Dravid.

The team flew into Lahore from Multan late Thursday evening after beating Pakistan by an innings and 52 runs on day five of the first Test to register their first Test victory on Pakistan soil.
