V V S Laxman on Friday made a comeback to the one-day international squad after being included for the first three matches of the tri-nation series involving New Zealand, Australia and host India.

Laxman's fluent play during the first Test against New Zealand and the warm-up games before the Tests would have surely influenced the selectors. Aavishkar Salvi, who was ruled out of the second Test against New Zealand with a hand injury, will have to prove his fitness on 21st October before the start of the ODI series.

Ashish Nehra was considered by the selectors but the Indian team management felt that the left-arm paceman needed some more time to get back to full fitness.

The selectors will meet again after the first three ODI's in Mumbai to select the team for the rest of the series.

The team:

Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Zaheer Khan, V V S Laxman, Virender Shewag, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Murali Karthik, Parthiv Patel, Aavishkar Salvi, Ajit agarkar.
