Sourav Ganguly has been retained as captain of the Indian cricket team for the forthcoming two-Test home series against New Zealand.

Ganguly will also lead India in the triangular one-day series, which has Australia as the third team, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary S K Nair said in a statement.

The first Test against New Zealand, at Ahmedabad, begins on October 8. Nair will announce the Indian team on October 4 after a meeting of the selectors at Rajkot.
