Injury-plagued New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond is to undergo another scan of his troublesome back after experiencing pain in a Christchurch club match, it was revealed on Tuesday.

Bond, who returned from New Zealand's tour of Sri Lanka in May after being diagnosed with a stress fracture, has been recovering since then and missed the recent tour of India.

He was also left out of the weakened team leaving for Pakistan on Wednesday for five one-day internationals to ensure he was ready for the return visit of Pakistan next month.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) doctor Rob Campbell examined Bond on Monday and according to team manager Lindsay Crocker, the injury was in the same area as the May fracture.

"The NZC medical team is going through the necessary procedures to try and arrange an MRI scan as soon as possible," Crocker said.

Bond has been troubled by injury since he made his debut against Australia in Hobart in the 2001-02 season.

He has taken 43 wickets in 10 test matches and claimed 51 victims in 27 one-dayers.
