Sri Lanka win series

November 23, 2003 18:14 IST

The third and final one-day international between Sri Lanka and England was abandoned on Sunday without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain, handing the hosts a 1-0 victory in the series.

The second match of the series was also washed out after Sri Lanka won the first game by a crushing 10 wickets.

England are due to play a three-day warm-up match against a Board President's XI starting on Wednesday followed by three Tests against Sri Lanka in December.
