November 13, 2003 15:42 IST

Left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra has been dropped from the Indian squad for the remainder of the TVS tri-series.

The national selectors recalled Mumbai right-arm fast bowler Aavishkar Salvi, who was in the team for the first three matches before Nehra replaced him.

"We have included Salvi in place of Ashish Nehra for the next match against New Zealand in Hyderabad on Saturday. If India qualifies for the final, Salvi will be retained in the squad," Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary S K Nair told reporters in Bangalore on Thursday.

Nehra, who played his first match against Australia on Wednesday, after a seven-month lay-off due to an ankle injury, went wicketless and conceded 80 runs from 10 overs as the World champions scored a 61-run victory.

The squad for the Hyderabad ODI: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, V V S Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Ajit Agarkar, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Murali Karthik, Hemang Badani, Aavishkar Salvi, Parthiv Patel.
