First ODI between India and WI abandoned

The first ODI of the 5-match series between India and West Indies at Kingston, Jamaica was abandoned after heavy overnight rains.

The umpires decided to call off the match due to a wet outfield.

The rains, which began shortly after the West Indies clinched victory in the fifth Test on Wednesday, has scarcely relented since then, causing causing widespread disruption of life in Jamaica.

Heavy storms have been predicted for Sunday too.

India lost the Test series 1-2.
