Tests at Trent Bridge, Nottingham

Telephone: 0115 982 1525
Capacity: 15,350
Home Team: Nottinghamshire.

The Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, which was formed in 1841, has the Trent Bridge ground at Nottingham as its home ground and headquarters.

The ground is situated in the Nottingham suburb of West Bridgford, and was laid out in 1838 by William Clarke, the landlord of the nearby Trent Bridge Inn. First-class matches have been played at this ground since 1840.

The first Test match at Trent Bridge was held in 1899 and since then 48 matches have played here including one between Australia and South Africa in 1912. England have appeared in 47 matches - won 13, lost 14 and drawn 20, while India have played only two matches here - in 1959 (lost by innings and 59 runs) and in 1996 (drawn).

For the inveterate tourist, the region is famous as the final resting place of Princess Diana, who was buried on the Spencer family estate at Althorp Park.
