Vendors sell pro-Cronje T-shirts

Vendors selling T-shirts supporting disgraced former South Africa captain Hansie Cronje were shooed off the pavement in Johannesburg on Friday.

"I still support Hansie," read the legend on the T-shirts being sold outside South Africa's premier cricket ground, the Wanderers, scene of the first one-day international between current captain Shaun Pollock's team and India.

There were not many takers among the thousands streaming past and soon the salesmen were giving the shirts away.

Not long after that officials from the Gauteng Cricket Board removed the vendors from the pavement on the grounds that they did not have permission to be there.

Cronje was banned from cricket for life after admitting to his involvement in match-fixing. He is currently contesting the ban in the Pretoria high court.
