Letter of the Day

November 29, 2001
Pride & Patriotism

We are all saddened by the current developments in the cricket world.

The stand off between the ICC and BCCI, virtually brings the cricketing world to a split(for sure its not a split, India would be Isolated).

The Brits may refuse to play at Mohali. India could be expelled from the ICC. We might never be able to watch an International Match figuring India. Cricket might loose its charm in our country. As a cricket fan this is hard to imagine.

As a patriot we would prefer that happening, than sacrifice our nations pride.

I mean, who would want to pledge his national pride; just to be in Malcom Gray' ICC; just to, not be isolated in the cricket world. People got the Indians wrong, when they thought that they could accuse our national icon sachin (and of course demi god) and get away with it. We fully support BCCI's stand.

"Mr. Steve 'hypocrite' Waugh, We ask you to shut your mouth. The charity you do in India (a publicity stunt) doesn't give you the right to speak against us. We Indians are pretty united, Mr. Waugh, when it comes to country."

"Mr. Raj Singh Dungarpur, Former Indian Cricket Board chief, please regard country's interest above your personal interests."

Signed
Sharath
