Dalmiya rejects ICC's demand

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday rejected the International Cricket Council's demand to make public its stand on the inclusion of Virender Sehwag by the Friday deadline, two days before the start of the first Test match against England at Mohali.

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, in a communication to ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed, said "rules specifically forbid disclosure of the composition of the team".

Dalmiya, who was replying to Speed's ultimatum on the issue, said any "prediction" on the composition of the team would result in inquiries by the Anti-Corruption Unit against him and the ICC Chief Executive.

Speed, on Tuesday, had set a Friday noon deadline for the BCCI to disclose its stand on Sehwag inclusion for the Mohali Test, beginning on December 3.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Indian selectors named Sehwag in the 14-man team for the first Test against England.
