Underdogs!
I am a keen follower of cricket and although my heart is with the Indian
team, my support is for the underdog. Although I must admit that the current
English team touring India looks pretty weak , I am surprised to see many leading
cricket personalities write them off.
Losing the first Test at Mohali is not the end of the series as England still have two more Tests to go. Look at what happened when Australia toured India. India also has a very inconsistent team to help the Englishmen. One good performance will guarantee 3 or even more mediocre to bad performances and most of our players are very adept at that.
Many of the players have taken for granted their places in the team which in turn has bred this inconsistency. Frankly speaking, VVS Laxman has the Australians to thank. One century in Australia carried him a long way and a double century in India is carrying him even further.
It also appears that newcomers into the team do not realise what they are playing for. Motto seems to be to play as many matches as possible, earn as much as they can and just fade away.
