A Sambasivam: Good evening to you. This is the biggest cyclone havoc that we have faced so far. The total loss is around 6125 crores. This is the time that everybody should contribute their mite for the cyclone victims. As on today we have recovered 981 dead bodies, more than 1000 are missing. You can send cheque or DD in favour of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's Cyclone Relief Fund 1996 and you can mobilise other NRIs also. You can adopt one village for reconstruction of houses and other community assets.

Nammaskaram Naidu garu, You have been talking a lot about giving ladies representation in the government. But you have only one woman in your cabinet.When there are some woman MLAs like Y.Sita Devi who are sincere, hardworking and efficient why can't you give them representation in the cabinet, that will improve the functioning of your govt. and give you more credibility?

Naidu garu, Namaste I heard the reports of AP Govt inflating the cyclone statistics to get the aid. it is totally distrubing. Also, AP Govt should involve lot of voluntary organizations in the reconstruction of villages and rehabilitation (on the lines of Latur earthquake, Maharastra govt allotted 2-3 villages per organization) Government should only assist the organizations and administer the work. Hello Mr Naidu, How far have you succeeded in focussing on and senstising the nation and the international community to the devastation caused by the recent cyclone and the massive assitance needed for rehabilitation and reconstruction?

I know that the recent cyclone was very devastating, but there are reports that in distributing aid that employees are taking like Rs300 from a total of Rs1000 and that there is a bias in distributing the aid? I think this is true since the same thing went on in the 1990 cyclone aftermath.What action are you going to take about this?

Namsthe Naidu gaaru, the tragedy could have been avoided if the villagers heeded to the cyclone warnings. But most of them generally do dot pay attention to these warnings. So relief does not just mean collecting funds, I think the government has to come up with educating masses about cyclone warning. Sir, do you have any such idea in mind?

AP JAYANTI: Today, I have met all India political party leaders. And also parliamentary leaders of all political parties. I've met Prime Minister, Vice president of India, former Prime ministers, Mr P V Narasimha Rao, Mr A B Vajpayee, Mr Madhu Dandvate, Vice Chairman Planning Commision, Mr L K Advani, President BJP, mr Harksihen Singh Surjeet, General Secretary CPM. Mr A B Bardhan, General Secretary CPI, Mr Chaturanan Mishra, Agricultural Mminister and others along with parliament members of our party. I've met and explained about the grave situation of the recent hurricane in Andhra.Recently, I went to Mumbai (Bombay) and Ahmedabad on the invitation of the Chief ministers. And appealed for liberal assistance for the victims. Recently, I've given interviews to BBC and other foreign media for international assistance also. Many international NGOs, world bank, and other countries are coming forward with assistance.

Namaskaram Naidu Garu! I am in NewJersy USA. I read and heard about recent disastrous cyclone. I really appreciate your efforts in relief work. But can't we have a system to tackle the cyclone more effectively reducing the damage to human lives and crops. I would also like to know what is being done regarding the power sector which i feel is really hampering the industrial growth in our state. I would like to suggest that you can have panel which would suggest long term solutions for this problem and it should be done as quickly as possible.

One more question Naidu Garu! What do you think about the political implications after the vicotry of Ms.LakshmiParvathi into the assembly. Do you think the scenerio in the state politics will change.

Before this cyclone there was a depression that hit Prakasam and Cuddapah dists. We know that 500 people were killed when a minor dam broke.As you know that the catchment area is the Nallamalai hills, one of the main reasons that the water flowed immeadiatly is due to deforestation in the hills. The tidal waves in AP are bad because there are no mangrove forests at the mouths of the rivers like previously to stem the tidal waves.What steps is your govt. taking to protect the environment as most disasters are consequences of meddling with the enviroment?

B K BEHRAM: Your question is well taken, I've taken all the precautions from day one to see that no one misuses even a single rupee. In the state level, district level, revenue divisional level, I have constituted all party committtees to monitor and supervise, the relief programmes. I am going to publish audit report of all expenditure concerning hurricane. Even big donors will be supplied with copies of audit reports. I have given warnings to all concerned authorities that any misuse of funds will be dealt seriously.

Mr. Naidu, Do you foresee a coming together of the two factions of the Telugu Desam , or is there too much bad blood for this to happen ?

Dear CM, I just wanted to ask one question Can the transport system in Hyderabad will be improved at all or not. I think I have seen all most all places in India . It is the worest.

Sir, I wanted to know whether the prohibition policy has been successful. Why should we prevent people from drinking, and why lose so much revenue? Do you think it is politcally dangerous to reverse the prohibition policy?

The NRI Telugu community would be happy to help in whatever way we can, but there must be some way that we can forecast these calamities and take action to avert the damage. Do you have any crisis management unit to address these issues?

I would like to take this oppurtunity to ask you about Liquor Prohibition & how you would like to tackle Naxalism in the state. At a time when events like Miss World contest which is supposed to be a aggression on Indian culture by capitalist world is openly being supported and encouraged in the home state of our beloved PM, why is that in the name of SOCIAL CAUSE that you have banned the sale of Alcohol. If SOCIAL CAUSE is the real case then would you be courageuous enough to ban Tobacco, Cigarettes (which are more harmful) and Guthka not forgetting single number lottories. Don't you think that the state government is going suicidal over the lack of funds in the state treasury ?

avs: Your suggestion is well taken. Even before hurricane, I have taken all precautionary measures after getting information through a site on the internet based in Hawaii. I've requested the Indian meterological departments and the state relief commissioner to provide information on the track of the hurricane on the television repeatedly.

Naidu garu, we all know that you are working hard for giving assistance to the affected in the recent cyclones.Why don't you give more powers to the Panchayats and Mandals and to your cabinet.Everybody knows that you cannot do this alone ? We know that politicians are opposed to decentralisation of power, but I think you should look towards Sri Jyothi Basu and the success West Bengal has in decentralisation of power.

Naidu garu I would like to know about senior Mp's like Vadde Sobhanadreswara rao, jan Basha What's their role in the party. Are you encouraging old Mp's are looking for new faces?.

But Mr Naidu, the fact of the matter is so many people lost their lives, fishermen were allowed to go out to sea (thank god, their lives were saved), all this smacks of administrative callousness, certainly not expected from someone like you who runs a modern administration and speaks of the Internet! namaskarm Naidu garu, On behalf of Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta, we tried to mobilise the funds for cyclone victims at a Deepavali function. Each and every individual was apprehensive about ChiefMinister or PrimeMinister relief funds. We had to say that money will be given to some NonGovernment Voluntary organizations. also read some reports of corrupt officials, corrupt representatives. Is CM relief fund is politaclly biased? what are you doing to correct the situation? Thank you.
