Emerging economies, such as India, are not the only countries witnessing a surge in consumer spending.

Let us take a look at some of the largest consumer markets in the world, according to United Nations Statistics Division.

The countries are sorted by their household final consumption expenditure, which represents consumer spending in nominal terms.
