The year 2014 had started off vigorously with the Auto Expo in February, that presented wide range of vehicles to be launched later in the year or in coming future. Few have already entered while several are still awaited!

From German luxury carmakers to Americans and Koreans and even Indians like Tata & Maruti too, have launched or are about to launch their contestants in the respective segments.

Despite of the prolonged declension in the automobile industry of India, there are plenty of cars lining up to join the current crowd in a few months of time. Here’s a sneak preview.

Honda Mobilio

Honda has geared up to launch an offense against the MPVs in the Indian market. For that it has prepared Mobilio which will be introduced next month.

The car was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo and has been one of the most anticipated in the segment where players like Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are waiting for the challenge.

Honda Mobilio

After successfully launching Honda Amaze and nex-gen Honda City, the Japanese carmaker is all prepped-up to write another success story.

Build on Brio platform, Honda Mobilio boasts of company’s new ‘EXCITING H DESIGN’ philosophy and comes with all the comfort needed in a vehicle of this class.

It will be available in both diesel and petrol variants and will perhaps share the same engines that are employed in the City. Price range would be between INR 6-8 lakhs.

Audi A3

Owning a luxury saloon will no longer remain a dream for the masses in this country. Audi is all set to launch an entry level luxury sedan A3 for the Indian market.

This will be the most economical car from German automaker till date. The overall design is reminiscent of the elder siblings in the market, while the interiors offer an entirely new design.

The Interiors come loaded with upmarket features like Audi’s MMI infotainment system with 5.8-inch colour screen panel with USB/SDHC card reader and 8-speakers for augmenting music.

Audi A3

The vehicle is upholstered in premium quality upholstery with 60:40 rear split folding seats. Built on parent company’s MQB platform, Audi A3 will come in both petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol variants would come in the choice of 1.4L 140bhp and 1.8L 180bhp TFSI engines while the diesel Audi will receive power from the familiar 2.0L TDI unit developing 150bhp. Starting price of Audi A3 will be under INR 25 lakhs.

Nissan Sunny

The 2014 model of the ‘caaaar’ is all set to launch in a few weeks of time. The facelift was unveiled at the Auto Expo and is considered a strong comeback from the company.

To reclaim lost grounds, new Sunny gets major updates on both exterior and interior front. It now gets large grille and revamped headlamps that goes deep into the front fender.

Nissan Sunny

Chrome accents will be seen around air dam and fog lamp housing. It now gets ‘Y’ spoke alloy wheels, while the rear profile remains almost the same. Interior gets a new 6.1-inch infotainment touchscreen panel with pairing to USB, Bluetooth, Aux-In and access to navigation as well.

Petrol engine line-up would be the same 1.5L HR15 which gives 99.9bhp while the diesel variant will sport 1.5L K9K engine developing 84.8bhp.

Transmission choices will be both manual and automatic CVT on petrol while diesel only gets manual. Sunny would be launched with the price tag a little higher than the current model.

Tata Zest and Tata Bolt

As part of expanding portfolio in the country, Tata Motors will soon launch Zest compact sedan to counter Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent in the segment.

On the other hand, Bolt will be targeted towards people looking for trendy hatchbacks.

Tata Zest and Tata Bolt

Zest would be the second attempt after Indigo, which has been a successful car all through its life but the rise of compact sedan segment have distracted a large number of buyers.

Both, Zest and Bolt are carved on Vista platform and the front fascia consists of black mesh grille and headlights show a grown-up look. Zest will also adorn LED daytime-running-lights.

The side profile is where we can make practical difference between these cars. Zest’s rear profile is sober while Bolt has a trendy look with a rear spoiler. Interiors will be getting beige and black scheme with comfortable seating for the occupants.

For the premium quotient, there is a multi-functional three-spoke steering wheel and Harmon touchscreen infotainment system. Rest of the profile remains the same as of Vista besides Zest getting extra litres in the boot section.

Tata Zest and Tata Bolt

Both the cars will be powered by a new 1.2L 84bhp Revotron turbo petrol engine and the previous Fiat made 1.3L 75bhp Quadrajet diesel engine. Both manual and automatic transmission system are on the cards.

As per the pricing, no official announcement has been made by the company but Zest, which is sub 4-meter car, could be priced close to Dzire and Honda Amaze while Bolt is expected to be priced between INR 4-5 lakh.
