Govt plans tourism office in Israel

The government is considering a proposal to set up a Tourism Promotion Office in Israel to promote cultural and tourism co-operation between the two countries, Minister of Tourism and Culture Jagmohan informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

In a written reply to another question, he said the government has cultural exchange programmes with 85 countries, under which exchange of exhibitions, artists, artifacts and organising cultural days, country festivals etc takes place, which help promotion of Indian tourism.
