According to an official release issued on Monday, consolidated net profit stood at Rs 536.44 crore (Rs 5.36 billion) as compared to Rs 393.31 crore (Rs 3.93 billion) for the previous-year period, an increase of 36 per cent.
The company's revenue on a stand alone basis (net of excise) was Rs 6,571.79 crore (Rs 65.71 billion) for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, an increase of 37 per cent, compared to Rs 4,788.18 crore (Rs 47.88 billion) in the corresponding period of 2005-06.
The net profit was Rs 441.72 crore (Rs 4.41 billion), an increase of 31 per cent, as against Rs 337.87 crore (Rs 3.37 billion) for the corresponding period.
