Sensex gains 21 points at close

The Sensex ended 21 points higher at 5,089. The Nifty was up 4 points at 1,596.

Reliance and HLL gained a per cent each at Rs 458 and Rs 111, respectively. ITC pared gains to close Rs 4 higher at Rs 1,033.

Wipro slumped over 2% (Rs 12) to Rs 565. While Infosys declined over a per cent (Rs 21) to Rs 1,535, Satyam was almost flat at Rs 339.

Dr.Reddy's

was the major gainer among the Sensex stocks. The stock rallied nearly 6% (Rs 37) to close at Rs 692. While Ranbaxy slipped towards the close to finish at Rs 922 - down Rs 6.50, Cipla ended Rs 2 higher at Rs 237.

SBI advanced nearly 3% (Rs 11) to Rs 431. Tata Power was up 2% (Rs 5) at Rs 254.

Bhel rallied 3% (Rs 16) to Rs 547.
