Income-Tax authorities on Thursday began searches on the premises of a leading information technology company, two clearing agents and a glass company as part of a drive to unearth unaccounted transactions.
More than 100 department personnel have been deployed in Thursday's exercise, which involves searches of the IT company offices in Chennai and Delhi also, an Income-Tax official told PTI here.
In the case of the IT company, more than 25 offices in the city alone are being covered, he added.
"We have just begun our searches and it is too early to make any comments", he said.
