Lionbridge to hire 250 in Chennai

April 15, 2005 16:07 IST

The US-based Lionbridge Technologies, a global software solution and software testing services provider, on Friday opened a new development centre in Chennai.

Announcing the opening of the centre, company's Chief Operating Officer, Satish Maripuri said the company would initially recruit more than 250 developers, test engineers and project managers for the centre set up at a cost of $2 million.

The centre would have a comprehensive testing laboratory, he said adding it would further strengthen the company's presence in the country, as it already had such a centre at Mumbai employing more than 1,000 people.

The opening of the centre here underscored the strength and scale of the company's offshore delivery system, he said.
