Inflation falls to 4.07%

August 05, 2005 12:57 IST

Reversing its upward trend, inflation fell to a two-year low of 4.07 per cent in the week ended July 23 due to cheaper food products even as prices shot up for minerals, including iron ore.

The point-to-point wholesale price index inflation fell by 0.11 per cent to 4.07 per cent from the previous week's level of 4.18 per cent with vegetables and fruits becoming cheaper.
