The Employees State Insurance Corporation on Thursday decided to increase the wage ceiling for coverage under the ESI Act from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the ESIC Board, Labour Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is also the chairman of the Board, said.
With this move, more people are expected to benefit from the ESIC scheme.
