Chiron erupts a massive power of 1479 bhp together with an ear-splitting torque of 1180 lb-ft.

As soon the name ‘Bugatti’ hits our ears; ultra high-performance, incredible speed and other such high octane terms automatically occur in our minds.

This is because the makers of this superlative supercar have got the legacy of making high-performance automobiles in the past, and they continue to do so.

When Bugatti Veyron was made public in 2015, no one could have imagined that there can be a speed that can beat Veyron’s 407 km/hr and 0-100 km/hr sprint in 2.5 seconds.

However, the invincible becomes truly invincible only when its competition is with none other, but itself.

So ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together to welcome the all-new speedster, the world’s new fastest hypercar - Bugatti Chiron.

The Bugatti Veyron successor takes acceleration to an all-new zenith with its top speed of 420 km/hr and 0-100 km/hr race in under 2.5 seconds.

To dethrone Bugatti Veyron Super Sports car, which develops a piffling 1183 bhp of muscular power and 1106 lb-ft of torque, Chiron erupts a massive power of 1479 bhp together with an ear-splitting torque of 1180 lb-ft.

The all-wheel-drive (AWD) supercar, Chiron has its production limited to 500 units, out of which half of the masterpieces have already been reserved.

Is there more? Yes, there is. Let's check out some cool lesser known facts about the future record-setting Bugatti Chiron.

It craves for more air

Though the air is everywhere, still the gigantic 8.0 L quad-turbocharged power plant may face heat and air supply issues.

Hence Bugatti Chiron requires an enormous 60,000 litres of oxygen every minute.

Several radiators to cool off

To keep off overheating, the champion speedster is equipped with as many as 10 radiators.

However, do you know how many litres of water gets poured into the radiators? It is 37 litres.

The Chiron radiator coolant pump circulates as much as 800 litres of water every 3 seconds.

Exhaust gas treatment system

Bugatti Chiron outpours unimaginable power which requires highly superior exhaust gas treatment system.

And here, Chiron uses six converters, which surrounds a total active surface of 2,478,563 sq. ft.

That’s equal to more than 30 Football pitches, whereas the exhaust is made of titanium instead of stainless steel.

Aerodynamics at its breathtaking best

The first glimpse of Bugatti Chiron will provide you with a feeling as if its outer shell is designed keeping in mind the airflow aspect.

In all, there are three air dams on both sides, there is unique splitter at the front, rear diffuser, and compact effective drag area surrounding the wheels.

Not only the front and side profile but also the LED headlights are endowed with small air intakes.

Interior illumination that beguile

The inside is fascinated by a modifiable C-shaped bar light strip at the centre of the cabin.

The illuminated strip starts from the top of the windscreen and bends down to the centre console giving a plush feel.

Basically, it is a single piece of mechanised aluminium that carries the longest light conductor ever fitted to any car till date.

Biggest clutch fitted to any passenger car

A hefty blow of 1179 lb-ft torque is not a joke, and is not a cup of tea of just any other transmission gearbox.

As a result, Bugatti Chiron comes equipped with an in-house bespoke 7-speed dual-clutch transmission unit, which is competent of surviving the massive forces without any breakdown.

Extraordinary rigidity and solidity

Bugatti Chiron gets the monocoque structure made up of carbon-fibre material, which requires a month to construct one.

Although similar material was used in predecessor Veyron, however, the latest one weighs 8 kilos lighter and still holds more rigidity just like an LMP1 racing car.

Bugatti states that it displays a torsional rigidity of 50,000 NM per degree coupled with a flexural rigidity of 0.25 mm per tonne.

These astonishing numbers are highest for any road legal passenger car on the planet.

Abundance of airbags

Inside Bugatti Chiron, you won’t find the typical airbags because here the seat and passenger side airbags sit inside the carbon-fibre housings.

And at the time of any mishap, they will blast through it.

Again a first, as prior to this, airbags have never been premeditated to blow up through the carbon-fibre housings.

In-depth thorough testing

Bugatti Chiron test cars have faced rigorous and exhaustive testing.

The company claims to have spent 300 hours in the wind tunnel, while over 200 sets of tyres were burnt in the testing of 300,000+ miles of real-world driving.

It is to be noted that a single set of four tyres costs around Rs 14 lakh, which is to be multiplied 200 times to get the cost of 200 sets of tyres used in testing.

Radiator skewed

Though Bugatti Chiron is stuffed with hardcore mechanicals all over, still the boot has been made practical.

And that is been possible as one of Chiron’s radiators position is tilted.

In addition to clearing space for a large suitcase, it is better for cooling as well. is an online marketplace for tyres and related products and also a content discovery platform.
