Hyundai to make Santro Euro-compliant by June

Hyundai Motor India today announced its plan to introduce Euro-II compliant Santro this month.

Hyundai's Santro small car The company has decided to start customer orders for the Euro-II compliant Santro from now, the deliveries for which are expected to commence shortly.

While the cost-push factors are expected to result in an upward pressure on prices in the range of Rs 25,000, the company is yet to decide the extent that can be passed on to the customers.

Y S Kim, managing director, HMIL, said in a statement: "Our plan to introduce the Euro-II compliant Santro is a natural consequence of our resolve to provide the latest and the best in automotive technology to the Indian market through constant technological upgradation. The Supreme Court's recent judgement in this regard strengthens our resolve to achieve the same."
