5. John Abraham

John achieved star status after he rode into glory with Sanjay Gadhvi's Dhoom last year.

This year, his hits (Kaal, Garam Masala) increased. But John also wanted critical acclaim, so he starred in Deepa Mehta's Water.

John may have started his film career late (he was 31 when he made his debut in 2003), but he's here to stay. And that's reason enough for India's ladies to cheer.
