Marvan Atapattu

Marvan Atapattu's job description, at three, was to hold the fort, keep one end going. His job was, most definitely, not to swing for glory -- but that is what he did, to the second ball of an Austin over, a nothing ball outside off that saw him edge, for Thorpe to hold with ease at first slip.

Atapattu caught Thorpe bowled Austin 3 off 9, FoW: 2-50 (over 13.2).
