Fleming fit and ready to lead

New Zealand's cricket captain Stephen Fleming has been passed fit, and will play the three remaining LOIs against South Africa in the ongoing series.

Fleming, slated to lead NZ in the World Cup, had been sidelined since the opening one-dayer against India at Taupo on January 9 when he suffered a groin injury.

He had an operation, and the recovery time has been longer than expected.

New Zealand chairman of selectors Ross Dykes confirmed that Fleming was finally ready to return.

The selectors have been advised by the NZ cricket board's medical panel that Fleming is now 100 per cent fit, and available for selection.

The Kiwi skipper has missed the country's last seven ODIs, and all three Tests against the visiting South Africans.

He will return as captain in place of allrounder Dion Nash, who has skippered the team in his absence.
