Tendulkar to rejoin team after Kenya match

Sachin Tendulkar is expected to rejoin the Indian team in England after the Group 'A' match against Kenya. Which means he will return in time for the key match against Sri Lanka on May 26.

Speaking to Rediff On The NetProf. Ratnakar Shetty, hon. secretary of the MCA, said, "It is likely he will miss the match against Kenya. He needs to be with his family for the next 2-3 days." Mr Shetty added that no one had the heart to ask him when he wanted to return to England to rejoin the team.

Prof. Shetty said that Sachin was in a state of shock and seemed to be struggling to come to terms with the sudden turn of events. "He wants to be by his mother's side, and I think any son would want to be there by his mother at such a difficult time."

A team official in England informed that they had received no news about Tendulkar's return, but hoped he would be available for the match against Sri Lanka.

Sachin's father, Ramesh Tendulkar, had expired on Tuesday night and was cremated this morning after the arrival of Sachin and his two brothers late last night.
