Emergency BCCI meeting likely

An extraordinary annual general body meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may be held after its office-bearers, including BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur and honarary secretary Jaywant Lele, return from England after the World Cup.

The chances of such a meeting being held are high after India's dissapointing performance in the World Cup.

'It is upto the president and the honarary secretary to decide whether such a meeting should be convened,'' Sharad Diwadkar, BCCI executive secretary, said.

The office-bearers are likely to return on June 26 or 27.

On the return of the other members of the Indian team, who did not leave with manager Brijesh Patel, Diwadkar said those players were now on their own.

''The board's responsibilty is over and it is now upto the players to decide when they want to come back,'' he said.
