Terrorists videotaped WTC before 9/11

March 04, 2003 14:51 IST

Terrorists had videotaped the World Trade Centre months before the September 11, 2001, attacks.

The videotapes, confiscated from the accomplices of the terrorists who masterminded the attack and aired by the ABC television network, showed that the towers were photographed from all angles from inside and outside.

The terrorists had apparently marked the weaknesses of the structure and also the route that the hijacked jetliners that crashed into them would take, media reports said.

One shot actually showed a plane flying past the towers.

The videotapes also contained commentary describing the place where the shot was being taken.

The terrorists had also videotaped the Empire State building and some other landmarks.
