US gets general, ex-Saddam guard

A general and a former bodyguard of Saddam Hussein was among 14 Iraqis captured on Tuesday, CNN quoted a US Army spokesperson as saying.

They were caught after a three-hour raid on 20 houses south of Tikrit, Hussein's ancestral home, Lieutenant Colonel Steve Russell said.

About 200 US soldiers participated in the operation, he said.
