In incidents of violence related to Indo-Canadians, two young men have lost their lives in Vancouver, Canada, during the past week.
Richard Lof (30), who was standing at the entrance of the Surrey strip club, was shot at by one of the three Indo-Canadians leaving the club on Monday.
As they were leaving, one of them pulled out a handgun and fired, and then escaped in a car, according to a report published in the Vancouver Sun.
In a separate incident, Gurjinder Singh Sidhu, a young teacher, was gunned down at a relative's wedding reception last week.
Sidhu's friend Rick Bhatti, another teacher, was killed last October. Incidentally, Narinder Mann, Bhatti's friend, also disappeared on the same day.
Sidhu was reportedly associated with Sarbjit Singh Dhanda, who had allegedly murdered another Indo-Canadian last September.
"Police have got to get to the top of this Indo-Canadian issue or it is just going to keep going," Raj Bhatti, the brother of Rick Bhatti, told the Vancouver Sun.
The police have stepped up vigilance at public gatherings of Indo-Canadians following gang wars.
