Fed up with being mistaken for Arabs because of their turbans, Sikhs in the United States have hired a public relations company to educate the Americans about Sikhism.
MWW Group of East Rutherford has been hired to educate the people about the beliefs of Sikhs. The firm has begun a campaign that stresses tolerance for all minorities.
The main thrust of the campaign will be to make the Americans understand that Sikhs have no links whatsoever with Saudi renegade Osama bin Laden, the main suspect behind the attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and Pentagon near Washington DC.
After the September 11 attacks, there have been reports of violence against the Sikh community in the US.
