Afghanistan's ruling Taleban said on Thursday night that it has finally located Osama bin Laden, prime suspect in September 11 terror strikes in the US.
Taleban's ambassador to Afghanistan Mullah Abdul Saleem Zaeef said the Shoora Councils' edict asking him to leave Afghanistan voluntarily has been delivered to him.
"Osama has now received the Ulema Council's recommendations and their endorsement by Amir-ul-Momineen (leader of faithful, a title of Omar)," Zaeef said.
Asked about Taleban's earlier statement that Laden was missing, Zaeef said, "We had not lost Osama, but he was out of sight of the people."
Asked if Taleban were willing to enter into some kind of compromise on Laden to avert war, the ambassador said, "No. It has not been tradition of Muslims to compromise."
The Shoora Council had proposed to the Taleban leadership to convince bin Laden to voluntarily leave Afghanistan, and choose another place to live.
On the attack on American embassy in Kabul on Wednesday, Zaeef said, "The people are very emotional and angry because the US is sounding threats to Afghanistan."
"The Taleban security forces tried their best to stop the mob from the attack, but failed to control the largely attended demonstration."
He said about 300,000 people have voluntarily offered to wage jihad against the United States.
"But it is not only 300,000 people, the whole nation is ready for jihad," he said.
