Destroy American jets, says Pakistani leader

A Pakistani politico-religious leader has called upon the people to "destroy" American jets using Pakistani soil to pound Afghanistan, reports Online news agency.

Jamiat Ulema Islam chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman also accused Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf of joining the "camps of the enemies."

"We have no trust in army rulers now. We would defend the air space, territory and airports of our country ourselves," he said after being released from house arrest on Sunday.

"We will destroy American jets," he said. He directed the people to attack airports of Jacobabad and Pasni in Pakistan where US troops and fighter jets are deployed.

"Musharraf should reconsider his policies immediately. The (Pakistani) army is no more trust worthy. merica and Western countries are the enemies of Islam and they are committing terrorism in Afghanistan. We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the security of our county and Islam," he said.
