US jets target Kabul, Jalalabad in fresh attacks

US fighter jets launched fresh attacks on Kabul and Jalalabad on Monday morning.

The jets roared over Kabul at about O730 IST followed by a series of explosions.

Most of the explosions, residents said, occurred on the city's outskirts. "We do not think today's explosion was as close as before," one resident said.

The air-strikes in Jalalabad began at around 8.30 am (0930 IST) and Taleban forces responded by firing anti-aircraft batteries.

US-led forces began their air assault on Afghanistan's ruling Taleban regime on October 7. The War on Terrorism: The Complete Coverage
