Two Taleban leaders killed in US attacks

Akthar Mohammad Mansour, commander of the Taleban air force, was reportedly killed during the US air attacks of the night of October 8.

IRNA news agency, citing informed sources, added that another high ranking Taleban military official, General Umar Ataie who commands the Nagarhar First Battlion, was also killed in the same raid.

These are the first high-level casualties reported out of Taleban territory, after the US and British forces launched retaliatory attacks against Taleban positions, military installations, Al Qaida bases and Osama Bin Laden on the night of October 7.

Taleban sources informed IRNA that both Supreme Commander Mullah Mohammad Omar and Al Qaida chief Osama bin Laden had survived the attacks, and were about to retaliate.
