US jets keep up attacks on Kabul

Two US jets streaked over the Kabul sky on Saturday morning dropping bombs, shattering the brief lull.

Unlike their earlier strategy, Taleban anti-aircraft guns opened fire at the two US jets, an agency report quoting residents said.

The explosion was heard about 08:30 am (09.30 IST), residents said, and the jets were seen flying over the city about an hour later, bringing sporadic anti-aircraft fire.

Meanwhile, an Afghan opposition group said it had taken a district from the Taleban in northern Afghanistan after 800 Taleban fighters changed sides.
