The Saudi newspaper Ar-Riyadh on Thursday reported that the Northern Alliance extradited a group of Kashmiri terrorists, captured while fighting for the Taliban, to India on November 28.

The report said the prisoners left by a special Indian airforce aircraft, which had been sent to the Bagram airbase, in the vicinity of Kabul.

The report also said that Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban spiritual leader, resigned as the leader of the Islamic militia during session of their shura (council) on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, Mullah Omar has handed over the task of negotiating the surrender of Kandahar to Pushtoon tribes, which are anti-American, to Mullah Mohammadai Baba.

Baba, according to the report, is currently located in the Pakistani town of Quetta.
